You can do what the federal government won’t: fund resettlement. Help a local office to keep their doors open and their lights on.
On January 27th, the Trump Administration suspended D.C.’s resettlement program.
No new refugees will arrive in D.C. until the pause is lifted.
Last year, D.C. welcomed 29 refugees. This year, D.C. is on track to welcome only 17–over 70% fewer refugees. All of these refugees were resettled before the Trump Administration took office; following the Administration’s suspension, arrivals have stopped entirely–decreasing by 100%.
