You can do what the federal government won’t: fund resettlement. Help a local office to keep their doors open and their lights on.

Last year, South Carolina welcomed 1,335 refugees. In the first three months of the federal fiscal year–prior to the second Trump Administration–South Carolina welcomed 295. Following the Administration’s suspension, arrivals have decreased significantly.

Declines in refugee arrivals over the next four years will permanently damage South Carolina’s resettlement program. During the last Trump Administration, almost 40% of local resettlement offices closed. South Carolina’s resettlement offices are at risk of pausing programs, laying off staff, or closing altogether.
